TRI-CITY RACE SERIES
2024 UPDATE
Boogity, boogity, boogity…let’s go racin’ Street Stockers! It’s time to gear up for a long-awaited full race season of thrills and excitement for all. Thunder Mountain, Hythe, and Goldpan Speedway, we’re coming at you!
We welcome back Finish Line Race Products and thank you for their continued support. To WFO Contracting and Bob Lowen’s Transmissions we thank you for once again sponsoring the Fast Time and Lucky Dog Awards at each race event. As well, each club has agreed to provide their annual contribution towards the points fund.
Drivers planning to compete in this series will be responsible for completing a 2024 TriCity Registration form before Race #1 in Williams Lake – email Lynn at dundeal@shaw.ca or hit her up on Messenger and request your forms as soon as possible. Transponders and Race-ceivers will be used at all races and can be rented at each event. All moneys raised will go towards advertising and the points fund, financial records available upon request.
- All cars entered must comply with the below mentioned set of core running rules and bring a hardcopy of their club’s Rule Book as well.
- We strongly encourage all participants to use some sort of head/neck restraint system. (Hans Device or similar)
- Tri-City Race Officials reserve the right to run qualifier races or B Mains in cases of extremely large car counts. Officials also reserve the right to move slower or off paced cars to the rear of the Main event starting line-up. Tri-City Executives will determine rookie status which may affect their Main event starting positions. The A Main event will be capped at 26 cars.
- There will be a $50 annual registration fee to compete in the series. Once drivers have registered, they will be eligible for all championship points earned and payout, no matter how many races they attend. * All cars will have to run a decal package and will be informed as to where decals need to be placed.
TRI-CITY RUNNING RULES and AGREEMENT
With exceptional racing and positive feedback from racers and fans, we are excited to keep our race format the same.
- All cars must weigh 3100 lbs all day long with driver in the car and there will be no adding fuel after Main events.
- Cone restarts will also continue.
- The Group qualifying format will remain the same. After all cars have gone through pre-qualifying technical inspection, they will then pre-stage and be directed out onto the track in groups of no more than 6. A specific time period will be given and your best lap in your group will be your qualifying time. Qualifying times and points awarded will remain the same. The top 4 even numbered qualifying positions will start at the back of the A Qualifier race. The top 4 odd numbered qualifying positions will start at the back of the B Qualifier race. All other starting positions will be filled by means of a random draw. These qualifier races lap amounts will be determined by car count. They will also determine starting positions for the Main event. There will be no points awarded for the qualifier races. The finishing order of the qualifying races will be inverted to set the field for the Main event.
- Any car that comes into the pits, no matter the reason under caution, will automatically go to the rear of the field. Any cars involved in a crash/caution must also go to the rear of the field.
- All restarts after cautions will be referred to the last completed lap and lapped cars will not be mixed in with lead lap cars.
2024 TRI-CITY CORE RUNNING RULES
1. Weight will be a minimum 3100 lbs. including driver, coming off the track after the main event. No Allowances for Fuel Loss. Left weight rule is 55% with driver belted in 47% rear maximum. *Weight rule is enforced ALL Day.
2. Ontario based street stocks are welcome to race in this series.
3. Tri-City cars will run on either the Hoosier 970 series tire, or the American Racer P265 street stock tire.
4 new tires will be allowed at each race. No mixing of tires will be allowed; all 4 tires must be of the same manufacturer and compound.
4. Motors will have a Rochester 2-barrel Carburetor for all manufacturers on a stock 2- barrel cast iron intake manifold.

One tube on the right side can be altered to clear upper A-arm.
5. Crate motors will be allowed but must follow the specific rules listed below.
6. Minimum 6-inch ground clearance to bottom of frame rail. Camaro’s measured at the door sill. Secondary point of reference of 4” where the sub-frame would meet the floor.
7. Cars must register at the WL race date and pay the $50 registration fee to be eligible for championship points.
8. All other rules will be as per each driver’s club membership’s rule book, which they must be able to produce at the discretion of the tech man. No club = No racing. Mystery Tech. Envelopes will be used after the main events.

- Weight percentages are as follows: 47% rear and 55% left side
- 6000 rpm chip on both crates and open motors and must run under home track rules
- No unsealed crates allowed.
TRI-CITY STREET STOCK CAR CRATE MOTOR RULES UPDATED 2024
The GM 602 part #88958602 steel headed crate motor is the only crate motor allowed.
• The following components must be used on the crate motor: -Holley 01-80541-1 650 cfm crate motor carburetor.
• New for the 2024 season crate motors will not have to run restrictor plates – with the exception of the Ontario-based Next Gen Street Stocks.
- Schoenfeld 185 headers. One tube on the right side can be altered to clear upper A arm.
- GM part # 14088765 counter balanced flex plate
- MSD 8728 sealed rev limiter with 6200 RPM chip and sold by Finish Line Racing Products.
- Distributor that comes with motor must be used or stock appearing replacement. NO racing distributors, super coils, racing modules or computerized ignition allowed.

- Modules without factory branding or factory decals will be deemed illegal. Vacuum advance may be disabled or removed.
- Must use stock GM Performance crate motor valve springs part #10212811. This is the only part of this motor that can be changed.
- 3 inch dual exhaust pipes. Each side must be separate with NO “X” or “H” pipes. Any muffler may be used but must be 3 inch in and 3 inch out.
- Crate motor or induction system cannot be altered in any way. Seals cannot be broken. If the motor is tampered with in anyway, the driver will be suspended.
TRI-CITIES SCORING TIME
TRIAL POINTS:
Number of cars will determine the total number of points for qualifying. The fastest qualifier will receive the same number of points as there are cars. Others will receive one point diminishing as per qualifying time.
QUALIFIER RACES:
The top 4 even numbered qualifying positions will start at the back of the A Qualifier race. The top 4 odd numbered qualifying positions will start at the back of the B Qualifier race. All other starting positions will be filled by means of a random draw. These qualifier races lap amounts will be determined by car count. MAINS:
1st – 10 points + passing points
2nd – 9 points + passing points
3rd – 8 points + passing points

8th – 3 points + passing points
9th – 2 points + passing points
10th – 1 point + passing points.
All other cars will receive 1 point for starting and 1 point for finishing + passing points.
